Parent Training

We only see your child for 1-2 hours per week at most. Parents see their children far more than this and they see them in the environments in which they are most likely to communicate. When parents are active and engaged in the therapy process, we can accelerate remediation of disorders.

We teach parents to observe and recognize patterns and behaviors that are helpful in creating a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. We also help parents execute certain exercises with their children so that the therapy they receive in the office can carry over into the home. We have seen drastic, accelerated improvement in children when parents participate in this plan.
